One of Gainesville’s animal shelters is closing as others deal with overcrowding

A community non-revenue animal shelter, Haile’s Angels Pet Rescue (HAPR), is permanently closing its doorways. Found at 5231 SW 91st Dr., HAPR has served its group for more than 18 many years by saving hundreds of cats and puppies from homelessness and suffering.

The business will be open to the general public until finally Dec. 11, when it will be shut down.

Lieberman continued, “Working at the animal shelter, especially when severely overcrowded, is physically and emotionally exhausting for present employees executing their ideal to consider care of the animals.”

With overcrowding from animals and the shelter being under-staffed, the ACAR has halted ingestion since late June. In an effort to reduce overcrowding and enhance the range of adoptions, the shelter also designed adoptions totally free for a limited time.
